Is the earth alive?

 Was the question my son asked tonight. Is the Earth alive? Of course it is, wait a minute, hmm I am not sure. Was my response. I asked him what he thought and he said it is alive. I told him I will google it and really that was not eventful. Basically it is if you believe it is and if you do not then it is not was the gist of it.

I am thankful for questions that remind me I really know nothing and one of the best aspects of being alive for me is to always be learning. I want to live out the remainder of  my days in some sort of perpetual state of change. I internally believe that is a key to a good mental health. Talking about this at bedtime with my son he did not understand what I meant, so i got him to take his pillow and sleep on the opposite side of the bed. He finally got to sleep but he usually falls asleep in minutes, tonight it took 45 minutes. Curious what his thoughts on what a "state of change" means tomorrow.
